Regional Youth Centre of Kosice – Slovakia

The Regional youth centre is specialized centre established by Košice county self-government. It is based in the town of KOSICE, in the East of Slovakia.

AIMS & ACTIVITIES

The Centre is devoted to youth in priority areas for youth work in Europe and also in Slovakia like participation, citizenship, human rights, intercultural dialogue, international mobility, providing information, encourage ability of young people and sport activities.

The centre is a commissioned organisator of long-dated sport competitions of the Košice self-governing region and district rounds of the olympiads and preliminary contests of the Ministry of education of the Slovak Republic.

Centre realises education, trainings, and schoolings activities in youth work area for young people, youth leaders and youth workers. We support also active free time, talented youth and artistic skills of youth. Since 2003 centre is member of European network of youth centres – www.eycn.org.

As member of ENYC centre fulfils the tasks consequential from membership mainly in area of implementation youth policy of CoE, intercultural learning, human rights education and active participation of youth.

The Centre is fulfilling tasks from the regional conception for youth work and also plays the important role in the support of non-formal education in the region

The Centre is a regional consulting centre for Youth in action programme and regional partner of EURODESK Slovakia.

Since 2007 is hosting and sending organisation for EVS

In framework of leisure time centre provide place for young people interested about languages, democracy and about art.

VISUAL STUDIO is platform within Regional youth centre aimed to young people interested in visual art. The Visual studioincludes current disciplines of visual art like free art, classic drawing, videoart, graphic design, multimedial and interactive projects.
